Pressroom |
The pressroom is the heart of any printing company. Its where your creativity finally meets paper and your vision takes form.
We have some of the most highly skilled and experienced pressmen anywhere around - craftsmen that have an eye for color, a heart for quality, and a mind for mechanics. They operate some of the best printing presses, and know just how to push them into producing the most perfect pieces possible.
The job of a printing press is to exactly reproduce images onto a specified paper stock, thousands, or even millions, of times. A sheet of paper passes through a separate unit for each color, where a cylinder covered with a metallic plate containing the image transfers ink to a blanket cylinder, then to the stock passing through. Since the plate never touches the paper, this process is called offset lithography.
Our arsenal of presses include a seven color, six color and two color sheetfed Heidelbergs. Our newest press is a 40" Heidelberg SM102 six color perfecting press with aqueous coating unit. These machines are the best in the business, famous for their quality construction and die-hard reliability.
All of our color presses contain electronic density and color settings, which we archive to tape after each print run. This ensures that any future reprint will match the original color exactly.
